Alan Seiglow is an emerging theatre maker. In 2018, Alan joined a physical theatre class in Cambridge led by Judita Vivas, of Foxtales Ensemble Theatre. During the 2020 lockdown he was invited by writer Nell Leyshon, to join The Outsiders, a writing group that helps give voice to those unheard in society. In 2021, as part of Bournemouth Emerging Arts Festival, Alan was invited to take part in a scratch evening with The Outsiders and spoke his words for the first time in front of an audience.
Alan continued to develop his writing at The Cambridge Junction and spoke his words at scratches between 21-22. In June 2022 Alan received the Cambridge Junction Troop New Ideas Award (funded by Julius Stubbs), a small fund which is supporting him to develop ‘The Resurrection of Joy’.
During his residency, Alan is developing a piece of autobiographical theatre, The Resurrection of Joy. The piece is a collection of stories, songs and celebration of his mum and the women who shaped him, told with humour, pathos, song, poetry and maybe even a little bit of dancing.
