
Emma is an emerging writer from Essex whose work is centred around regional and female stories driven by themes of family, comedy, and a sprinkle of darkness. Since graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2019 with a first-class English and Creative writing degree, her work has been performed at Brighton Fringe, Colchester Fringe and Barons Court Theatre. In 2024 she was selected for two playwrights’ programmes including the Mercury Theatre Playwrights’ and the Menagerie Young Playwrights’ cohort. Emma has recently begun the Mercury Creatives mentoring programme which runs through to the spring of 2025.
Her debut play ‘Flumps’ is making its professional debut in the summer of 2025 as a Mercury Original production. Her other credits include: the top 10% of BBC Writersroom in 2023, shortlist for the ITV’s Unique Voices Programme in 2024 and longlist for the RSC’s 37 Plays. Emma is very excited to have the opportunity to work with Metal and is cooking up a brand-new supernatural thriller play set in Canvey Island.
