Faith Falayi is Peterborough’s first Young Poet Laureate and aims to encourage young people to claim their own poet voice and hopes to inspire the next generation of poets. In her work she like to write about all aspects of identity, exploring who we are through poetry.
During her residency Faithwill explore themes of home and identity, displacement and belonging by inviting young people from racially diverse backgrounds in Peterborough aged 14-25 to share their opinions and experiences about their ‘hybrid’ identities, exploring creatively and discussing questions such as, ‘What does it mean to be a young Black Brit?’ and ‘Can we exist in two places at once?’
