Jeffrey Choy is a designer, artist and writer, born and raised in Hong Kong, living in the UK. His work explores how society, culture, and creativity shape our identities and experiences. He challenges conventional perceptions of reality and invites viewers to question their own assumptions. His practice stems from his interests in visual communication that evolved into investigation of cultural movement and propaganda.
During his residency, Jeffrey will explore and research masculinity both on a personal and wider societal level, and how patriarchy affects social change. His goal during the residency is to better understand these phenomena, opening dialogues that address the immovable force that is partisanship, and how we can best navigate spaces within echo chambers and misinformation. He will be experimenting with creating interactive installation and/or performances and tackle the topic with a wider network and resources through workshops, interviews and more.
