    Kate Genever

    January 22, 2024 by

Kate Genever is an artist and farmer based in South Lincolnshire. As a farmer, alongside her family, she runs a traditional mixed farm of suckler cows, sheep and combinable crops.

As an artist she tries to make sense of the world through drawing. Taking drawing to be more than a technique – “rather a disposition that reveals our connections with the world of materials, nature and each other… a drawing from, with and together”. Be it in villages, refuges, caravan parks…. over extended periods, she builds deep connections with people and place in the celebration and support of site-specific responses, DIY architectures and community actions. She uses process-led principles and advocates for strength based co-production approaches – often working in collaboration with artists, organisations, researchers and curators.

Kate residency “We have found in the ashes what we lost in the fire” will be part of the the ‘Stronger Bonds for a Fragile Planet’ programme in February 2024.
