    Residencies Nicki McCubbing

    Nicki McCubbing

    November 24, 2023 by

Nicki McCubbing is an artist, writer, filmmaker and creative producer from Liverpool. She has exhibited sculpture and installation nationally and internationally. Nicki recently made her first short film, ‘The Mummy’, supported by Arts Council England which has been selected for several film festivals this year.

Nicki is interested in familiar objects and their relationship to the uncanny, humour and play and blurring the boundaries between art and not art. In her work, she uses found objects to construct pop cultural totems. There is a dark underbelly in the work that is partly hidden, partly accentuated by humour and playfulness.

“I’m excited to listen and collect memories of this iconic bus route from passengers and bus drivers and develop these into new work which could be stories, scripts or film.”
