The permaculture garden at Edge Hill Station has given me a unique environment that has helped me to develop new artwork.  I make work about rhythm and movement, and the station garden is a place where lots of different rhythms, those of plants, commuters and trains, all intersect. It has also been a great opportunity meet new people from different backgrounds and share ideas around the relationship between technology, commerce and ecology. During the Research and Development Residency at Metal I developed a local wireless network that broadcasts out of the garden onto the platform, it was made to  provide a momentary distraction for users who connect, directing them from the hourly and daily rhythms of checking in on social media and commuting to the slower, more organic rhythms of the garden.
