In partnership with Peterborough Pride, we are hosting an open banner and flag-making workshop! Book here.
The workshop is designed to provide a safer space for young LGBTQIA+ people to express themselves creatively while also learning new making skills. The workshop will be delivered by experienced facilitator Ramona Zadissa (they/them), who is knowledgeable about the needs and concerns of the LGBTQIA+ community.
During these sessions, participants will work together to create banners and flags that will be used during Peterborough Pride’s Parade (held on 24 June) and displayed at The Green Backyard where the Pride celebration event will take place.
Ramona will provide guidance and support to the participants as they create their items. The workshop will also be a space for conversation and engagement, where participants can share their stories and experiences with one another.
As far as it is possible, we aim to try and chose materials for this workshop which are eco-friendly and recycled, or recyclable.
These workshops will provide young LGBTQIA+ people with a fun and supportive space to create something meaningful and to learn new skills. We will ensure that everyone feels welcome and included, and that the workshop is a positive and empowering experience for all participants.
