SUMMARY:Hosted at Metal Liverpool: Gemini Tapes + Matthew Philips & Nick Branton
DESCRIPTION:Hosted at Metal Liverpool: AMQH (a.k.a. whi music) presents Gemini Tapes\, plus Matthew Philips and Nick Branton. \nGemini Tapes is Mark Greenwood (ex-Cavalier Song\, Prison Behaviour) and Peter Smyth (Bloodcog\, ex-Mugstar\, Kling Klang). They create an improvisational noise that uses cheap samplers\, tape loops\, feedback\, broken keyboards and guitar effects pedals\, chants and screams. \nMatthew Phillips (cello) and Nick Branton (bass clarinet) will open the evening as a pair. \nThe Calderstones at Calderstones Park were the first inspiration for Matthew and Nick to come together\, using sketches of these ancient stones as graphic scores to inform their improvisations. Now they are expanding – introducing different forms of graphic score and visual aid to help them explore other sonic possibilities. \nTickets are £7 / £5 and are available here via Ticketsource. \nPlease note: This event is ‘hosted at’ Metal Liverpool and functions outside of our programme as a dry hire. For more information about Metal and our public programme\, please click here.

SUMMARY:Large-Scale Event and Festivals Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Do you run a large event or festival? Maybe it’s a parade\, a festival on a green\, or a multi-site art exhibition? Do you want to connect with others who might run similar events? Or do you have big dreams about making your festival a reality? If so\, join us for our Large-Scale Event and Festivals Gathering on Monday 28 October from 12 – 2pm. \nTogether with the Peterborough Cultural Alliance\, Metal Peterborough is hosting a Large-Scale Event and Festivals Gathering\, bringing together groups\, individuals\, organisations and the people who work hard behind the scenes\, from in and around Peterborough. This new network will be led by those involved and exists to help support the wealth of brilliant large-scale events happening across the city\, creating a space for inspiration\, sharing knowledge and expertise\, troubleshooting and collaboration. \nAt our next gathering\, we’ll share\, connect and make plans for the future! Each gathering will have a guest speaker who’ll run a short workshop on something the group has identified. On Monday 28 October\, we’ll be joined by Emily Bradfield who will be sharing her creative approaches to evaluation and how to make them fun. Emily will help you to reimagine evaluation – using creative examples and hands on\, practical activities to give it a go. \nAbout Dr Emily Bradfield  \nEmily Bradfield has been working at the intersection of arts\, health and wellbeing for over a decade\, supporting arts and health organisations throughout the UK to explore creative methods and “do data differently”! Her creative approach helps people to reimagine evaluation and bridge the gap between research and practice.
