Metal has joined The Citizens in Power Network.
The Citizens In Power Network is designed to reimagine decision-making in the cultural and creative sectors and beyond. Running from 2025 to 2027, it brings together organisations, local government, and practitioners to explore how communities can take the lead in shaping their creative and cultural lives.
Cultural decision-making has long been dominated by privileged groups. This new network is established with a clear belief: that decision-making processes should reflect the diversity of the people they affect. Citizens In Power will embrace democratic models such as citizens’ assemblies and citizens’ juries in which citizens are people who live, work or stay in a place; i.e. everyone.
Joining the network is part of Metal’s aim to increase community power through creativity in Liverpool, Southend and Peterborough, and connects to our programmes like Artists For Future Policy and The Unlonely City. We’re excited to contribute towards the future of The Citizens In Power Network and learn together.
