Become a Metal Champion
Be part of something extraordinary. Join us in driving lasting change on a national scale across our three cities; Peterborough, Southend and Liverpool. Now, more than ever, we need your support to make this vision a reality.
This is not your average supporters programme – the change we make is profound and lasting. In the last ten years, we’ve supported over 11,000 artists, hosted over 110,000 participants, and welcomed over 8 million audience members.
When you support Metal, you join a movement that creates deep, lasting impact. You’ll connect with emerging artists, helping to shape their paths and influence their futures; you’ll empower local communities to make decisions, welcoming a diverse mix of practices and ideas; you’ll enable us to continue collaborating with schools, communities, and partners to nurture the next generation of artists and championing everyone’s right to have creative agency. You can be part of this transformative process, ensuring that art and creativity remain accessible to all and continue to inspire new ways of thinking and being.
To give you a flavour of Metal’s current programme: Creative Break Time is a radical education model in Southend liberating teachers from the increasingly rigid structures of school planning time instead nurturing time to create, connect and be inspired with local artists and creatives; The Unlonely City is a new arts programme disrupting loneliness and nurturing moments of solidarity, surprise and laughter by setting up initiatives (artistic commissions, citizens assemblies, parties, public conversations and even new organisations) decided by local people; Picton Play celebrates the everyday, defiant and unique creativity of a Liverpool neighbourhood that is often overlooked; and Get a Room offers spaces of kinship and connection, particularly for people who have been marginalised.
Our dedicated supporters are vital in sustaining our work with artists at every stage of their careers, enabling them to create bold, challenging, and engaging work. Your funding also empowers us, as an organisation, to push boundaries, allowing us and artists to take risks.
