February 21 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Free

Have you ever wondered how sheep’s fur gets made into wool?

Join us for an intimate hands-on workshop brining a group of strangers together to do some making blending ancient craft, sharing stories and spinning yarns after dark. Make your own spindle and learn to spin a yarn!

Hosted at Kitty’s Launderette on Saturday 21 February, 6.30-8.30pm. Email edgehill@metalculture.com for more details.

Events are free and open to anyone.

About Tool/Toy Project
Tool/Toy Project are artist duo Rachel Jones (social researcher and artist based in Norwich) and Maegan Icke (architect and artist based in Liverpool).

They explore the objects of work and play, and create projects with tools and toys that tell us something about their societies of origin. Their work includes themes of degrowth, play, domesticity and urban planning with the aim of imagining alternative societal structures that don’t incentivise ecological destruction and social exploitation.

About Artist Ideas to Disrupt Loneliness
In Autumn 2025, artists submitted their creative project ideas as part of The Unlonely City. Since then, and even before then, we’ve been thinking about how we can create unlonely cities through creativity, curiosity and just the right amount of chaos. You can find out more about what’s happening in Liverpool here.

The Unlonely City is an arts programme disrupting loneliness, nurturing moments of solidarity, surprise and laughter. Through a series of artistic commissions, citizens assemblies, parties and public conversations. The Unlonely City takes place across Liverpool, Peterborough, and Southend, where Metal is based, to imagine what an ‘unlonely’ city could be.

The Unlonely City programme is funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation as part of the Arts Award.
