Beating the Bounds: Picton Soundwalk

May 10 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
Free

Meeting at Metal, Edge Hill Station at 10.30am for an 11.00am start.

Step into the stories of Picton and Wavertree this May, as we gather for Beating the Bounds – a communal Rogation Day walk shaped by memory, sound and shared experience.

Together, we’ll retrace the route of the Picton Play Soundwalk, created by sound artist Sara Wolff – an immersive audio journey built from the voices, poems and lived experiences of local residents.

This special event invites you to walk the neighbourhood differently: to listen deeply, notice the overlooked, and reconnect with the places and people that make this area home. As we move through familiar streets, stories will unfold through headphones and conversation alike, blending past and present in a living map of community memory.

Rooted in the tradition of “beating the bounds,” this shared walk becomes both a marking of place and a celebration of belonging – echoing Picton Play’s wider mission to bring people together through creativity, play and collective exploration.

Whether you joined the original soundwalk or you are discovering it for the first time, this is an invitation to slow down, tune in, and walk together.

Join us. Walk, listen, and rediscover Picton.

The soundwalk will be followed by a light vegetarian lunch back at Metal, Edge Hill Station, with artist Sarah Wolff. Please note that tickets are limited.
