    Joel Rodriguez

    May 14, 2025 by

Joel Rodriguez is our artist for Positive Notes, a brand-new youth project, all about uncovering the hidden gems of Peterborough’s history.

Joel is a queer Venezuelan-British photographer and director whose work blends bold portraiture, fashion, and storytelling to explore identity, culture, and resistance. Drawing from his own experiences of migration and queerness, Joel creates emotionally charged imagery that uplifts marginalised voices and celebrates human connection. His practice is rooted in community, memory and transformation, always aiming to make the invisible, visible.

Joel will be working with young people aged 13 – 25, to help discover, celebrate, and share the stories that have been overlooked—stories of amazing people, places, and events that give Peterborough its unique vibe.

You can find out more about the Positive Notes project here.
