Projects Metal Liverpool: Black History Month

    Metal Liverpool: Black History Month

    September 16, 2023 by

Metal Liverpool with our residency artists, Liverpool African Diasporic Filmmakers Network (LADFN) and Liverpool Hip Hop Festival (LHHF) have a series of exciting events this October. Working with local artists Nikki Blaze, Tony Broke and Michelle Peterkin-Walker, we will celebrate 50 years of hip hop through film screenings and workshops that explore the four creative pillars of the genre: DJing, rapping/MCing, graffiti painting and break dancing. These events, with some of our long-term and new collaborators, recognise Black History Month which celebrates the invaluable contributions of black people to British Society.

Save the dates as details will be released very soon and look out for one more exciting event to join the line up!

    • Tuesday 3 October
The launch of the Liverpool Black Archive Hub: Book free tickets here
    • Thursday 19 October
A special screening of Style Wars with Liverpool Hip Hop Festival
    • Friday 3 November
Hip Hop at the Hill workshops with Liverpool Hip Hop Festival
