Hosted at Metal Southend, Elevator Arts are delighted to welcome you to the exhibition of work created during the Labour of Love project.
Come along for a celebration of creativity. Elevator Arts’ Labour of Love Community Quilt showcases the handiwork and experiences of mothers throughout Southend. Made in partnership with Labyrinth House, textile artist Laura Johnson (Jilted Quilts) and facilitator Lauren Eve, the quilt has been created across explorative sessions delivered with clients at organisations such as A Better Start Southend, Do It Like A Mother, Bump 2 Breat and Cake Club.
The exhibition launch will see the unveiling of the quilt displayed in the main hall at Metal.
The exhibition launch is free to attend. Light refreshments will be provided, and babies and buggies are welcome.
Labour of Love is funded by the Southend Community Investment Board.
Please note: this event is ‘Hosted at’ Metal Southend and functions outside of our programme as a dry hire. For more information on the organisers, please visit their website here. For more information about Metal and our public programme, please click here.
