Build dens in nature with artist and environmentalist Andrea Ku.
Our Listen Residency artist Andrea Ku will lead Dens of Sanctuary workshops on Saturdays 9, 16 and 23, from 12pm to 3pm. The first session on 9 March will be at Edge Hill Station and the following two sessions will be at Wavertree Botanic Park. (Due to unforeseen circumstances, the session on Saturday 30 March has been cancelled).
We’ll learn how to make dens for creatures of different sizes, thinking about what they need to stay warm and sheltered. Suitable for all ages and no previous den-building experience necessary. Free to attend with materials and a packed lunch provided. You can come to any or all sessions.
Wavertree Botanic Garden and Park was established in 1836 by William Roscoe as a place of sanctuary for the people of Liverpool to enjoy and experience nature. For the past month, Andrea has been on an artistic residency in the park, researching the history and exploring the animal and plant wildlife found there. This series of workshops will explore the relationship people living nearby have with the park.
Join us as we collectively create unique dens of sanctuary and celebrate all its inhabitants.
