‘Home is now – we are home’: Interactive walk with Hayley Harrison #1

    February 24 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

    Free

Join artist Hayley Harrison for an interactive walk at dusk through Peterborough city centre to the river and back. During the walk, Hayley will project words onto buildings, benches and branches around us to make us reflect on our relationships to the landscape we are walking through, and to the humans and non-humans we are sharing space with.

After the walk, we will return to Chauffeurs Cottage to think about ‘home’ in the context of the earth crisis and capitalism. We will consider if we have found the refuge we need on our walk, and if the landscape reflected our everyday desires for ourselves and our communities.

At the end everyone will be invited to write their own text, question or message which will be shared and projected at the second walk. These calls could reflect what we want or need, or simply how we feel about what is needed to remake and reconnect the landscapes and communities around us.

Book your free place on the walk .

    About Hayley Harrison

Hayley Harrison works with people, performance, alternative photography, text and projected moving image. They work directly outside or in response to urban landscapes. They invite local communities to celebrate their green spaces and places we call home, finding specific questions relevant to places we inhabit, and beings we share space with in that moment. Hayley also holds space for loss, and sorrow in response to the ecological crisis and consequential collective and personal grief.

Strong Bonds for a Fragile Planet

Strong Bonds for a Fragile Planet will bring together artists and curious people through walks, talks, dinners and workshops to consider what we need at a time when the world feels fragile in many ways.

Inspired by ideas from the book ‘Radical Intimacy’ by Sophie K. Rosa, Strong Bonds for a Fragile Planet will explore the themes of home and refuge, the idea of rest and solidarity, community and connection through a varied series of events.

Strong Bonds for a Fragile Planet will take place as a selection of WALKS, TALKS, DINNERS and WORKSHOPS with plenty of ways to get involved.
